During today’s debate I honestly didn’t enjoy many portions of the entire ordeal. Throughout the entire process, I wanted to try (stressing try) and let everyone get credit and allow for their points to get across so we can apply it to our of debate, however I wasn’t allowed to get any of my ideas in. when I did have an opportunity to speak I was bombarded in this unorganized, almost vicious attack of ideals from every group member. Understanding this is a debate and it should be fast paced I know I should be able to compose coherent ideas and valid points quickly, however having this massive team of absolute anarchy made it rather difficult to maintain a straight head.
As for who won, I believe no one won. Yes that means you too Mr.Beddingfield. Our team had valid points but some of our arguments were so loose and dare I say penetrable. We didn’t have any concrete, airtight arguments that we could absolutely stand by. Mr.Beddingfield, you had arguments that were so easily countered and it almost seemed like you wanted to only counter us and rarely did you bring up points that I could see as a solid, flat out idea rather than you just arguing with us. From what I remember some points you brought up were the idea of stereotyping in the book and other books and actually I think that was it. Your staple was the idea of stereotyping in the novel. As for us well we didn’t do so hot either, our presentation from everyone who spoke we less than spectacular. (yea I understand my moment was awful) All and all I didn’t enjoy it, I think if it were smaller teams like 5 – 6 it would be much more organized and enjoyable.
